This is a small study I made in preparation for one of the most ambitious commissions I’ve taken on to date! This scene is not a real place in the Grand Canyon, but rather a composite sketch of some of my favorite reference photos. The client wanted a number of elements represented in their piece, so coming up with a completely original composition from my own photos and experiences was a creative way to create a truly unique piece!
