Cactus Flats

9”x12”

Watercolor on Paper

2021

Available through my shop here.

This painting was made from a compilation of reference I took while driving down to the Santa Teresa Wilderness for a trail assessment trip. The main photo for the Saguaros was taken across the street from a bar called Cactus Flats - hence the name. But this entire drive I was once again in awe at how not-flat Arizona can be. Quiet mountain ranges glazed in sunset glow, saguaros and ocotillo and agave, and vast space to roam.
